Amazing Start to my Comic Collection by Alex Clingan
I bought this issue from a rack at a comic shop five years ago, and it started a collection that I'm very proud to have. This was my first Witchblade (and first Top Cow comic for that matter) and was my gateway into the awesome universe that Ron Marz has expanded beyond belief.

As I stated in the excerpt of my email that got published in the back of Witchblade 149, this issue certainly is not a good choice for new readers, but that being said, I was able to pick this up, being part two of a two-part story arc. Even though I had absolutely no prior background of the characters or knew what had happened in the previous issue, I still got engaged. Not only is Basri's art beautiful, but Ron Marz's focus on character development and interaction got me to care about who I was reading about right off the bat. Witchblade and comics that have sprouted from it such as Artifacts and Broken Trinity are great reads that I highly recommend to any comic collector, or anyone who enjoys compelling story lines with carefully crafted characters.
