After a small scale nuclear war throws society into a tailspin, four friends are
struggling just to survive on a day to day basis. Complicating matters is that one of them is destined to be the wielder of a Darkstar, one of six mystical weapons instrumental in the final fate of mankind. When Cain, an ancient vampire who wants the weapon for himself starts stalking them, the only thing that can save them is Vanessa, another vampire who wants to use the Darkstar to destroy Cain. Caught between two vampires with an age old grudge, the world crumbling around them and other things that go bump in the night, day to day life becomes a constant struggle for survival.
In this issue: We're introduced to the antics of the four main characters, trying not to make a mess of their daily lives. Meanwhile, Cain jump starts his plan for the Darkstars, which may very well mean the end of life as we know it.
