Whether you’ve gained weight, have short legs, or just have zero sense of style, the result is the same: Your shoes don’t fit. This can be a nightmare when it comes to your favorite pair of kicks—but don’t worry! It’s an easy fix. If you can’t bear to part ways with your beloved boots or heels but they are too big, there are some easy tricks and techniques that will help you get them on your feet again. Whether you need to add inserts, tighten laces, add heel grips, or any combination of these things, we have everything you need to know about how to fix shoes that are too big.

How To Fix Shoes That Are Too Big?

Check The Fit Before You Buy

Before buying any new shoes, you should always try them on and make sure that they fit well. If you’re buying shoes online, you may have to rely on the shoe size chart provided by the manufacturer in order to determine what size to order. If you’re ordering shoes online or purchasing them in person, make sure to check the fit and return them if they don’t fit as expected. There are some online retailers that offer free returns, which can make it easier to exchange shoes and find sizes that fit better. Taking care to ensure that shoes fit properly before purchasing them will help you avoid having to try to stretch them or modify them in other ways later on.

    Shoe stretchers

If your shoes are a half size too large, you can use shoe stretchers to make them smaller. You can purchase shoe stretchers online or at a physical store. They are sometimes used to stretch out new shoes that are a little too snug, but they can also be used to stretch out tight shoes. Let the shoe stretchers sit in the shoes overnight and try them on again in the morning. If the shoe stretchers don’t seem to be working, you can put some heavy objects inside the shoes to help them stretch out more quickly. If you don’t have shoe stretchers on hand, you can also use a can of beans or a bag of rice (make sure to remove the beans or rice before wearing the shoes). You can also roll up a towel and place it inside the shoe. Let the shoe sit with the rolled-up towel inside it for a few hours before wearing it again for best results.

    Shoelaces

If your shoes are too large but you don’t have the money to buy new ones, you can use shoelaces to make them smaller. For example, if your shoes are too wide, you can try lacing them more tightly to make them narrower. You can also try lacing your shoes in the other direction to make them a little looser. You can try different lacing patterns to see which one works best for your shoes. It’s also a good idea to replace your shoelaces regularly, as worn laces will not be as effective at keeping your shoe snug. If you want to make your shoes smaller, but you don’t have shoe stretchers or time to wait for your shoes to stretch out, you can use shoelaces to make them smaller. Simply place your shoes as tightly as possible. They may be uncomfortable to wear at first, but they should start to feel looser after a few hours of wear.

    Shoe inserts/adsorbents/conditions

If your shoes are too large, you can try to make them smaller by stuffing them with ad-sorbents or conditions. For example, if your shoes are too wide, you can try stuffing them with paper or a cloth to make them narrower. You can also try stuffing them with a piece of cloth or paper towel if they are too loose. Invite a few friends over and have them stuff your shoes with paper while you sit there and watch. It’s a funny way to pass the time, but it will help you with your problem. Alternatively, you can use a conditioner or hair conditioner to make your shoes smaller. This may take longer to work than other methods, but it will be less obvious than using paper or a towel.

    Shoe repair store visit

If you’ve tried everything and your shoes are still too big, you can visit a shoe repair store to have them resized for you. Before visiting a shoe repair store, you should make sure that your shoe is worth resizing. If the sole is worn down or the heel is lifting up, don’t bother resizing your shoe. It’s better to replace the shoe entirely. There is a chance that resolving your shoe will make it smaller, so check with the shoe repair store to make sure they can shrink your shoe while they resolve it. If you want your shoes resized, ask your friend to take you to a shoe repair store. Explain your situation to the repair person, and they will help you with your problem.

Shoe resize using a Dremel tool

If you want your shoes to be smaller, but you don’t have the money to visit a shoe repair store, you can resize them yourself using a Dremel tool. If your shoes are too big due to their width, this will work, but it’s not recommended. If your shoes are too long and you use a Dremel tool to shorten them, the shoes will be too short, and you won’t be able to wear them. If your shoes are too wide and you want to make them smaller without shortening them, use a Dremel tool to sand down the inside of the shoes. This will make them smaller, but it will also make them stiffer.

Why Are My Shoes Too Big?

    1. Too many pairs of shoes

This is the most common reason why people are unable to wear their shoes. Have you ever noticed that when you buy new shoes, they seem to fit better than the other pairs? This is because your body has adjusted to fit the new shoes, and it no longer fits them as well. There’s nothing wrong with this; it’s just a normal part of adapting to new things. However, if you keep buying more pairs of shoes in hopes that they will fit better, you will never be able to wear them comfortably. Your body will have adapted to the first pair of shoes that fits you well, so all future pairs will be too big for your feet.

    2. Too long

If your feet are too large for a certain pair of shoes, your feet are just too long for them. If this is the case, there’s nothing wrong with it; all people have different lengths and shoe sizes. In fact, some people have even been known to wear their shoe sizes backward (i.e., a 6-5 would wear a size 5 instead). However, if your foot length is too large for any pair of shoes in your closet, there isn’t much you can do about it without buying new ones or going shoeless!

    3. Too wide

If both sides of your feet are wider than normal (and not just when wearing certain types of footwear), then there is something wrong with your feet. If you have wide feet, your feet will be too wide for any pair of shoes you own. If you have normal-sized feet, then there is no problem with your feet, and you can wear any type of shoe without it being too small or too big.

    4. Shoes need to be broken in

This is another common reason why people are unable to wear their shoes comfortably; they haven’t been worn in yet. Shoes that are new and still stiff aren’t going to fit as well as shoes that have been worn a few times by the owner. However, if the owner has walked around in the same pair of shoes for a while without breaking them in (or wearing them out), then they will fit better than brand new shoes when they are first purchased.

    5. Wrong shoe size

If a person wears a shoe that is too small for his/her foot size, it won’t feel comfortable even though it might fit well on his/her foot; this is because the shoe size doesn’t match up with his/her foot size. The same goes for people who wear shoes that are too long for their foot sizes; these shoes won’t feel comfortable even though they might fit fine on their feet because their foot length doesn’t match up with their shoe length! This is why it is important to know your exact foot measurements before buying a pair of shoes so that you know what size fits best.

    Summary

The best way to fix shoes that are too big is to make them smaller. There are lots of ways to do this, including tightening laces, using heel grips, or adding inserts. You can also make shoes that are too big more comfortable by wearing thicker socks, using a shoe stretcher, or adding insoles.
